Q: What is the reflective surface made of?
A: The reflective surface of the low-e glass has several layers that are sputtered on float glass. Two of those layers are silver and provide 95% infrared reflection while maintaining visible light transmission.

Q: How can the IR reflective side be identified?
A: The IR reflective side of the CFR (corner frosted) and QFR (quarter frosted) slides are the frosted sides. The IR reflective side of the PLN (plain) slides can be identified by the slight green tint.

Q: Can the slides be cleaned with organic solvents?
A: The IR reflective surface is unaffected by common organic solvent. The silver is adversely affected by basic solutions. The surface is also easily scratched.

Q: Can the slides be heated?
A: The slides are resistant to heat, but not thermal shock.

Q: Can the glass be cut into special sizes?
A: Special shapes and sizes can be made without curved sides and under 10 square inches.
